Interpretor Training
How We Teach
We offer interpreter training programs grounded in learner-centered teaching methods that develop practical interpreting skills while advancing language access and community inclusion.
Community Interpreter: A Language Justice Approach (40 Hours)
This training focuses on simultaneous interpretation in community settings while also exploring how community interpretation can serve as an advocacy tool to support more equitable and inclusive communities. Participants develop interpretation skills while learning about language justice, power, inclusion, and community engagement.
Bridging the Gap (40 Hours)
Bridging the Gap is a nationally recognized medical interpreter training program that prepares interpreters to work in healthcare settings. The course covers medical terminology, interpreter ethics, communication skills, cultural responsiveness, and interpretation techniques for medical environments.
Ongoing Training and Coaching Support
The CLC also offers ongoing training, mentorship, and coaching opportunities for both consecutive and simultaneous interpreters to help language workers continue building their skills and confidence.
