Interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation can be achieved with special audio equipment that allows interpreters to interpret what speakers are saying as they are talking. The interpretation is experienced in real-time, with no interruption to the flow of conversation.

Consecutive interpretation occurs when a person speaks then pauses to allow for the interpreter to repeat what has been said in another language. Everything is said in both languages, everyone can hear the speaker’s voice, inflection and even emotion during the speech or presentation.

Whether it’s simultaneous or consecutive interpreting, CLC provides professional, quality interpretation into all represented languages.

The Community Language Cooperative is proud to offer American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services across Colorado and for virtual events. We are committed to making spaces more accessible and inclusive for Deaf communities.

Language Justice Training

Training can be provided to your community or organization to achieve an understanding of Language Justice. A practice used in social justice movements to create shared power, practice inclusion and dismantle traditional systems of oppression that have traditionally disenfranchised non-English speakers.

Translation

CLC will translate all documents related to your organization’s needs for outreach and information that needs to be shared with your non-English speaking audience. We will translate flyers, announcements, websites, forms, surveys, checklists, summaries, agreements, agendas and powerpoint presentations or any other document and we will ensure that the formatting of your original document remains intact.

How do I request interpretation?

How do I enable interpretation for my Zoom meeting?
See tutorial video here. If you do not have a business/enterprise zoom account, please reach out to us and we can schedule the meeting on our zoom account with interpretation.
What languages do you interpret for?
The CLC works with a network of interpreters nationwide with a variety of languages.  Locally in Colorado we provide services in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Somali, Amharic, Arabic, Pashto, Dari, Karen, Burmese, ASL, French, Kirundi, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, and Tigrinya.
How do I submit a translation request?

What languages do you provide translation services for?
The CLC translates written material in over 300 languages. Please connect with Jose at jose@communitylanguage.org for a quote and a timeline for your translation project.
How do you select interpreters for my specific needs?
All of our interpreters are trained as Language Justice practitioners.  The CLC has developed a 40 hour Community Interpreter Language Justice training to ensure that our team knows how to create equitable and inclusive spaces for community participation and engagement.  In addition, our interpreters are certified and accredited as legal, medical, and educational interpreters. When we select an interpreter for your event, we will make sure that they have the language expertise to fit your request.
What are your payment terms and methods?
We accept credit cards, debit cards, Paypal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, checks, and bank transfers.  An invoice will be sent after services are rendered and payment is expected within 30 days net.
